Life of Theophilus

[edit]

I don't think the passage quoted in the article comes from the Chronicon Ecclesiasticum of Bar Hebraeus. Perhaps the Chronicon Syriacum or one of his other works?

I have tagged it for a citation, and would be interested to know where the passage does come from.

Greek

[edit]

I've added Category:8th-century Byzantine people because Theophilus is being characterized as a Greek person in the body text and this category is the best fitting category for medieval Greek people. However, while I'm also reading the German translation, I'm not so sure if Greek is actually the right characterization of Theophilus. Shouldn't it become Syrian instead?
